Development Executive - Singapore


We are looking to expand our Development team in Singapore. The incumbent will be responsible for raising awareness of Orbis and blindness prevention in schools and companies. He/She will also secure sponsorships for corporate social activities.

Reporting to the Director of Development, the incumbent will be responsible to raise awareness of Orbis and blindness prevention in schools and with corporate supporters to secure sponsorships for corporate social activities. S/he is also responsible for planning, organizing and implementing sustainable strategies to build awareness and generate funds within the school and corporate segments.

REPORTS TO: Director of Development

SUPERVISES: Corporate and individual volunteers, external vendors


  • Lead the development of prospects and proposals for talks, Orbis Blindfold Lunch and other corporate social activities to schools and potential organisations to secure funding and grow donor base.
  • Work with the Orbis’s global program offices to obtain information to develop funding proposals.
  • Identify engaging activities with high fundraising potential and propose such activities to prospects.
  • Assist the team to organise and manage galas and other approved special event plans, including Workplace Giving, volunteer recruitment/ management, logistics and liaison with relevant parties.
  • Assist in the production of communication materials within the team.
  • Work with the team to co-ordinate on social media, intranet, e-newsletter and eDM campaigns.
  • Handle corporate and special event donor transactions, provide service to donors, and maintain good donor stewardship.
  • Research and update market intelligence about corporate and special events fundraising in Singapore.
  • Provide general administrative support to the office.
  • Handle and maximise donor management system, ensuring that all records are up to date and organisation is compliant with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act.



  • University graduate or above.
  • At least 2 – 3 years of hands-on experience in marketing and/or communications.
  • Proven experience in organizing events and campaigns is an advantage.



  • Good written and spoken English. Bahasa Indonesian is an advantage, but not a pre-requisite.
  • Ambitious, independent, able to lead projects and make decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others.
  • Open-minded, creative and willing to work under pressure.
  • Good team player and able to handle multiple tasks.
