Watch our new documentary film following some of our staff and crew on our recent project in Myanmar. This short film gives a behind-the-scenes account of what it's like to work on the front lines of the fight against avoidable blindness.
The film tells the story of the Orbis heroes who dedicate their life to help others, and who face a new threat to global blindness.
Around the world there are 193 million people living with blindness or visual impairment – needlessly. Around 90% of whom live in developing countries. And whilst the eye health community has been working hard to improve the quality of care available, things are set to get worse.
The world’s population is simultaneously increasing and growing older, meaning levels of blindness and visual impairment are set to triple by 2050.
There is a Crisis in Sight.
But this is not our fate. We have the solutions that can stop this crisis in its tracks – watch this video to find out what we’re going to do about it.
