We would like to thank our generous sponsors for their support in our fight against avoidable blindness:

The event was graced by Mr Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Transport & Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth.

(L to R) Mr Stuart L. Dean, Chairman of Orbis Singapore Board, Mr Steven Lee, chairman of SAAA, Mr Baey Yam Keng and Mr Khoo Seng Thiam, ex-Chairman of Orbis Singapore Board.

With the support of the Singapore Airlines, we flew our 15-year-old beneficiary Trinh from her village in remote Binh Dinh Province, Vietnam to Singapore to share her compelling story with our guests on how Orbis has transformed her life.

Ms Nikki Muller, Emcee, Ms Tran Anh Trinh Do, Orbis beneficiary and Ms Nguyen Thuy Quynh, representative of Orbis Vietnam.

15-year-old Trinh from Vietnam was knocked off her bike by a truck. The timber from the truck hit her head and she was found unconscious on the street. After being in coma for several weeks, she woke up and said that her vision was poor and she could barely see. Thanks to Orbis Flying Eye Hospital doctors who performed the surgery, Trinh’s life has been transformed.

Guests were entertained by local song writer and singer, Steven Choo and his band. Steven Choo wrote a compelling song for the Rohingya who suffered the crisis in COX Bazar. Orbis is pleased to be able to contribute to sight saving work in the refugee site with the support of Qatar Fund Development.

A big thank you to our auction partners and winners for supporting Orbis’s mission to transform lives through the prevention and treatment of blindness.

Our appreciation goes to Pont Des Arts who generously sponsored their wines at our gala.

The Orbis Singapore team would like to thank all guests for taking time out to join us at the Orbis Gala 2019. It was a memorable evening made possible by supporters, sponsors and volunteers alike and we really appreciate each and every one of you.
