Orbis Online Charity Auction

Thursday 9th July, 2020

Date Thursday 9th July, 2020
Time 9:00AM

Globally, our fundraising events as well as the Singapore Gala have been postponed and finally cancelled. To continue Orbis’s programs around the world, we are organising an online auction on 9 July 2020 that will run for five days. Join in on 9 July to #BidForSight!

Orbis’s Work Amidst Covid-19

COVID-19 pandemic may have grounded our Flying Eye Hospital, but it has not stopped our mission to prevent blindness.

In challenging times like these, Orbis continues to provide training through Cybersight, and care in a safe manner to those affected by severe vision-threatening eye conditions.

In Peru, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Mongolia, we are caring for premature babies at risk of developing Retinopathy of Prematurity as treatment must be carried out within 32 hours of diagnosis to prevent permanent blindness.

Below are some donated paintings, featured experience and favourite memorabilia from the collection in support of our fundraising effort.

Artwork

Ng Kah Meng

A Singaporean artist whose works reflect his fascination with nature and the mysteries of the universe and are much-sought after by discerning collectors.

We are often blind, so to speak, to the many good things in our lives — our eyesight, our doctors and our healthcare system in which emergency eye surgeries can be carried out within a day. In gratitude, I am donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of my art pieces featured in the online auction to Orbis. I hope you will join me in helping Orbis raise the necessary funds to continue their work to make life better and brighter for those in need.

2020 was to have been the year celebrating how far we’ve come in the fight against the projected tripling of global blindness in the next 30 years. With you behind us, we are confident that this plan is still attainable.

Noah Winery

Established in 2002 in Israel, Noah wines are produced with innovative technologies while adhering to traditional French wine production methods. Overseen by renowned French enologist and winemaker, Francois Raynal, Noah Winery produces fruity "New World" wines with flavours and bottle designs for a young target audience.

Jerusalem Winery

With its first vintage in 2002, Jerusalem Winery is a modern operation that uses innovative technologies in its wine production processes. The vineyards are planted at elevations of 600 to 800 meters above sea level and the wines are aged in French and American oak barrels for 3 to 15 months.
